A chartered physiotherapist for nearly fourteen years, Clare has worked in a variety of clinical settings which has given her excellent insight into a wide range of patients, conditions and rehabilitation techniques.

 

She began in the NHS where she worked for five years, specialising in musculoskeletal disorders, (problems with joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, nerves and bones) and trauma and orthopaedics (surgery involving these same structures). Clare then spent time in private practice gaining experience in treating sports injuries before moving on to work for The Fire Fighters Charity, a residential rehab centre in Devon for fire fighters and their families.

 

She has completed a large number of post graduate courses in manual therapy, functional movement, hydrotherapy, kinesiotaping, orthopaedic medicine, clinical education and Pilates.

 

Clare is a certified matwork Pilates teacher, experienced in teaching all ages and abilities. She also teaches Large Equipment Pilates on either a 1:1 or 1:2 (one instructor, two participants) basis. Clare has found that Pilates is an amazing way of restoring normal movement and as a physiotherapist she is able to use her knowledge to modify the exercises so it really does have something to offer everyone.

Clare has recently returned to work after maternity leave and is currently based at The Courtyard Clinic in Dursley.

 

She is available for physiotherapy appointments and Pilates sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays.

 

Clare teaches matwork Pilates classes on Tuesday evenings in Wotton-Under-Edge and at The Courtyard Clinic in Dursley on Friday mornings.
